🐾 Meet Daphne!
Daphne’s story began with her mom, Thelma, who was rescued as a stray from a North Carolina shelter. Little did we know Thelma was expecting! Thelma is likely a purebred Siberian Husky, and while Dad is a mystery, he must have been a big guy—these pups are growing fast and strong. (DNA results are pending, but we suspect a giant breed mix like St. Bernard.)
🌟 About Daphne
- Daphne is one of Thelma’s beautiful pups, ready to head to her forever home the first weekend of January. We would love to have families lined up for them!
- She’s playful, vocal, and full of personality—just what you’d expect from a Husky mix.
- Like her siblings, Daphne will thrive in an active household that can keep up with her energy and curiosity.
🏡 Adoption Requirements
- Pickup locations: Virginia Beach, VA or Severn, MD (foster’s home or rescue). We cannot transport the pups at this age.
- Socialization: Adopters should already have another dog in the home or a solid plan to keep Daphne socialized.
- Spay/Neuter: Required by 6 months old. We provide an appointment with our vet in MD. Out-of-state adopters may use their own vet, but costs are covered only up to our vet’s rate.
- Lifestyle needs:
- Active families only—these pups will need daily exercise and engagement.
- At adoption, Daphne can only be left unsupervised for 2-hour intervals. She cannot be left home alone for full workdays.
- Unknown with cats—if you have cats, you’ll need a safe plan to separate them in case Daphne develops a prey drive.
- Huskies are famously vocal! Please consider your neighbors if you live in an apartment or townhouse.
