Below are some of our 2019 Happy Tails!
For older happy tails click here for 2018.
We'll never understand how this guy ended up homeless, but he'll never be alone again!
Happy Tails to our Roanoke
From roaming the streets of Georgia alone,
to a home for the Holidays of her own...
Happy Tails to our Sakari
Ozzie had significant medical issues and needed time to heal. But yesterday his Christmas wish came true. Happy Tails to our Ozzie!
Scout came to us after she was rehomed and neglected, she had been shaved and weighed only 23lbs. But look at her now!
It's amazing what a little love can do for a homeless Husky and the never wavering gratitude they give you in return. Go live the life you were meant to Scout!
Return adopters make us pretty happy!
When Kara reached out because she wanted to add a sibling for Skye, we knew just who the right fit for their family would be.
And now Sabre has a wonderful, amazing family of his own!
Jackson's new family has a dominant female pup in the home and a little hooman, so we had to be careful finding them a good match. And while Jackson is still transitioning in his trial period, he's doing such a great job!
We love you buddy and are so glad you have a home for the howlidays!
From wandering the streets of Georgia
To little hoomans of her own
We bid sweet Fallow the happiest of Tails
Go live your best life
Edison is the Malamute sized, senior Fella who was surrendered to a MD shelter when his family downsized. Well, Edison's worries have finally come to an end when one of our favorite families decided to adopt him! Edison, buddy, you struck gold and we're so thrilled about your new life. Happy Tails!
We rescued Luna when her "family" was too busy for her. She's shown us nothing but gratitude & love in exchange. She's already showing her furever family the same! Happy Tails to our Luna!
This little lady is.......ADOPTED!
Once homeless on the streets of NC to a home with kids and dogs to play with, Yuka has found her happily ever after! Happy Tails to our Yuka!
Myra was surrendered at only a year old for killing a cat to a kill shelter in GA. We stepped up to help this beauty and life has really turned around for her. Happy Tails to our Myra!
Do you remember Phoenix? We rescued him from a kill shelter a few months back. He had already been taken to the back room at the shelter to be euthanized! We got to him with moments to spare.
Well life just keeps getting better for Phoenix and today he got his Happy Tails!
Can you just feel the love? Jada was also rescued from a high kill shelter in GA. The shelter environment scared her. But her foster Mom taught her confidence and showed her love and today Jada pays it forward to her new Dad!
Happy Tails to our Jada!
Koda is a reminder that even other animal welfare organizations don't "get" our breed. Unless you speak Husky and understand his stink eye looks and grumbly talk, he could be intimidating. But he's literally the BEST. We found him a family who speaks Husky!
Neeko was dumped in a VA shelter terribly matted and caked with feces from neglect. One of our NJ volunteers took one look at her and said we'll be her forever home.
Our H-E-A-R-T's could not be happier today.
Sasha came to us from a shelter in Georgia. Her sweet disposition won us over immediately! This pawfect girl needed a pawfect family! From a stray, to shelter, to foster, to furever, please help us bid Sasha Happy Tails!
As you can imagine we've been flooded with applications for the girls! We're still working through those for Yuka, but Yura's was a no brainer! Wishing Yura the best of everything, and in her new home she'll have just that!
We rescued Saber back in April. He was in a GA kill shelter and labeled "Rescue Only" because he was so scared. H-E-A-R-T became his last hope.
Our experienced Foster quickly realized he needed more than we were able to provide and so we turned to the experts.
We sent Saber to a board and train program with the amazing Zsolt at Frogs to Dogs in Atlanta. Saber's transformation has been nothing short of AMAZING!
The best news is his new hooman Mom has been able to continue his rehabilitation with her own experience an
Von was our NC rescue who had a terrible case of mange. Then he broke with Parvo. It took us months to rehabilitate him and restore his health, with much support from all of you!
Our efforts have certainly paid off. Von's happy tails was certainly a teary one for the H-E-A-R-T Volunteers. But only because we love this guy so much and wish him the absolute best in life.
Carmen was rescued from an overcrowded Georgia shelter and is now onto a furever family in Virginia. Her new fur-bro can match her energy and spunk and we're hoping for a perfect fit!
Happy Tails to our Carmen!
Prince Ivar also got his chance at a better life! Ivar was the fella rehomed and then abandoned because the new owner was moving and couldn't take him along.
This guy is so much fun and we knew we needed the right family who would embrace his Husky spirit!
So yesterday he started his two week trial with a Husky savvy family and two Huskaroo siblings. We just couldn't be happier for our little Prince.
Live the good life buddy! Join us in bidding Happy Tails to our Ivar
Remember Diesel?
He needed a new home after his family had a baby, to no fault of his own.
Well how happy is he to have a kid again?! Diesel has certainly found his happy place.
Happy Tails Buddy
Skye needs an active family, kids to love and lots of belly rubs. We found her just that! And boy does she love them already.
Help us bid Happy Tails to our Skye! Live the good life beautiful!
Titan, we wish you nothing but belly rubs, zoomies and soft woos. Live the amazing life we have wanted for you for so long now.
Happy Tails to our Titan
Kai once sat on death row, heartworm positive, in a GA kill shelter. H-E-A-R-T saved his life, restored his health and found his furever.
Happy Tails to our Malakai!
Zeus was our rescue (Husky on the right) who was surrendered for nipping a drunk stranger, if you recall.
His new family has assured us they won't allow drunks around him and so off he goes to his two week Adoption trial! We couldn't be happier for our guy!
Happy Tails to our Zeus!
Sometimes you meet a dog who just touches your soul. Sometimes her adoption is as equally special.
Tess has come such a long way in the few short weeks we've had her. But she still has a long road ahead. When adopter Sharon applied to make her part of her family, we were stunned.
H-E-A-R-T will see her ortho needs through to the end, but Sharon wanted her to recover and rehabilitate in her own home.
So last night, that's what happened.... Tessa went HOME! We are so thrilled for her and beyond grateful Sharon chose her.
With all the highly adoptable dogs who need homes, an adoption like this always melts our H-E-A-R-T's. When we asked Sharon if she wanted to consider a dog who wouldn't need additional care, her response was "I knew she was mine from the moment I saw her."
Happy Tails to our Tessa
He's here! He's here! He's here!
Loki arrived safe and sound this afternoon and got to meet his new family.
To think this guy was unwanted and almost euthanized blows our mind. Only smiley days now fella.
Happy Tails to our Loki
Parker was rescued from living life on a chain earlier this year. Anyone who knows this breed understands how social they are. They're not meant to be lawn ornaments! Well Parker will never have to worry about a thing again. He's been adopted by H-E-A-R-T return adopters and has a new amazing life in CT.
Happy Tails to our Parker!
What's better than adopting a Siberian Husky? ADOPTING TWO, of course! These guys had once been scheduled to be euthanized in a NC kill shelter before we committed to rescuing them. We knew it would be hard to find them a home together. But not impossible!! A special thanks to adopter Kim for opening your home to double the trouble! Happy Tails to our Cannon and Gunner.
Our bonded, odd couple, Calli and Keanu have been adopted. They've been with us a long time! They first met in foster care and quickly became best friends. We tried to separate them once and it didn't go well. So they've been with us a very long time looking for a home together. It was hard to find someone who wanted both a Shepherd and a Husky! And then their new dad came along...
Once at the top of the euthanasia list in a SC kill shelter to a loving, devoted home in NJ. Our TJ has found his forever.
Sometimes in rescue you can just feel a family connect with one of our dogs. It's what we hope for most. TJ is a lucky guy to have found it.
Happy Tails Bubba! We miss you but are so excited about your new life
Kono came to us on Christmas day. He had Heartworms and Coccidia, and was a pretty sick guy. His foster mom was nothing short of a miracle worker providing him excellent care physically and emotionally. This past weekend Kono made a very far journey from GA to CT to his new family. He is settling in nicely and best of all he's now Heartworm NEGATIVE!!!
We rescued Juliet over a year ago!! She had an awful skin infection and an extreme case of heartworms. We treated both, but the damage from the heartworms was extensive. Being an older girl with ongoing medical needs, we weren't sure if Julie would find a forever home. And truth be told, we passed up a few applicants because this pawfect girl needed a family pawfect for her.
Well.... Julie's time has finally arrived! Thank you Herring family for loving our girl as much as we do. Happy Tails to our Julie!!
In January we rescued her form a Georgia kill shelter. She was a real mess. Her hair was falling out and she was heart worm positive. She went to live with a foster family in NC who mended her body, spirit & H-E-A-R-T. Now ready for her furever, she's been adopted by H-E-A-R-T alumni Walton (nka Bandit) and return adopters,The Hinson Family!
Quite a pair they make! We love return adopters! Thank you Hinson family!
Juno is now in his two week trial period for adoption!
From the euthanasia list to lots of lovins... This is what we do!
Be a good boy, Juno! We love Happy Tails!
This weekend's team was 12 amazing drivers, an overnight stop in NC and one gorgeous redhead!
Honey made the journey from GA to her foster home in NJ. She's a fabulous girl and a fabulous traveler. Welcome to the good life beautiful!
Not so long ago in a galaxy far, far away Leia was abandoned in a kill shelter.
A fate uncertain, her Rescuers came to her aid and have given her a family who will cherish her for a lifetime.
May the force be with you Leia, always. Happy Tails!
FOSTER FAILURE ALERT
But is foster failing really a failure?
Well definitely not in Jax's book! For Jax, he never has to make another transition and never has to worry about being given up on again.
For Jax, he is home and can spend furever with the people he already loves. Way to go Jax!
Happy Tails to our Jax and the Brody family
Bear was surrendered to us after being attacked by other dogs in his home. He had several extensive surgeries and ended up losing a leg and several toes. We chose his foster home carefully because not only are they Husky savvy, but have experience with rehabilitating tripods. We're so grateful to Nicole and Jenna for not only rehabbing our Bear, but that he never has to make another transition. Happy Tails to our Bear!
Charline was a senior girl who had been disposed by her family when their new baby became 'allergic'. A NJ Shelter is no place for a lady to be! But we found her a forever home who will treat her with nothing but love now! Wishing you a lifetime of love and belly rubs girl! Happy Tails!
Miss Layla is off to her forever home! We rescued Layla from a high-kill shelter in southern Georgia. Layla was one of our more energetic dogs and we knew she needed either other dogs or kids to play with... Today she got both!
Wishing her nothing but tail wags & kisses! Happy Tails to our Layla!
Hey, hey, it's Balto's day! Balto is one of the three Huskies we committed to in SC. He was supposed to arrive on transport to MD next weekend. His temporary foster home called and well...
They just can't stand to say goodbye!
Balto has won their H-E-A-R-T's. Way to go buddy!
Happy Tails to our Balto
Girls on the left, boys on the right, Waylon in her furever!
It's turning out to be a fantastic Saturday so far. Happy Tails baby girl
Roxy's forever family, return adopters Kathryn and family, were eager to take home their sweet girl.
Screaming Happy Tails to our Nysa!
After a long weekend of travel, our girl made it to her new family in MD. Once on death row in a high kill shelter in GA to a glorious smile on her face. This is what keeps us going.
Live the good life Nysa!
After 12+ hours of travel, Ace made it to Maryland and into the arms of his new family!
It was a long day but so well worth the smile on his face! Go live the good life Ace.
Happy Tails buddy
The long awaited Adoption of Bruno finally happened! Remember this guy? He's been with us a few months now receiving heartworm treatment. When return adopter Matt first saw him, he knew sweet Bruno was destined to be part of his pack. Bruno, now cleared for travel, made his journey from GA to MD this weekend by a team of 11 volunteers to meet his new dad!
To our Bruno, we could not be happier where you landed. We know you'll be loved until eternity. And to Matt, thank you for believing in our mission and for saving a life, twice!
It's been a bumpy road getting Wyatt healthy again and his face continues to be scarred. But when adopters Brian and Koi met him, his personality & and demeanor far outweighed his scarred appearance. If anything, it only shows how resilient our guy is! They also met Trump. Trump hasn't even been added to our website yet, but he and Wyatt are buddies. So what's better than Wyatt getting his happily ever after today? Wyatt and Trump getting one together! Wow boys, we are so happy for you both.
Nila was part of a cruelty case when we took her in. She was emaciated and sunburned. A little foster love and nutrition turned her right around.
Look at her smile now! We love that her new family chose her.
Happy Tails to our Nila!
Not the best photos
But definitely some wonderful smiles! Yesterday evening the Husky express arrived in MD and two excited families got to meet their new furbabies.
Tanner has traveled a long journey with us. Adopted three years ago, his Mom fell too ill to care for him. Fortunately for Tanner, we stand behind our pups for a lifetime. So this is Tanner's second chance at happiness.
Cody was surrendered to a high kill shelter in NC, badly matted and Heartworm positive. He's on his way back to health and will never experience that type of neglect again!
Help us bid Happy Tails to our Cody and Tanner! Be good boys!
Woodford was rescued from a high kill shelter in GA. He's a big guy with an even bigger personality! We found him an amazing furever home in MD that will love all 80lbs of him.
Live well Woodford!
Well this one has been a long time coming!!
Yasmin is such a high energy, special gal, that when Kim and David applied to adopt her we informed them not only does Yasmin need a fenced yard, but another dog in the home.
So guess what.... They put up a fence and adopted her buddy Spanky too!!!
We could not be more happy for these two!
Please help us bid Yasmin and Spanky a very Happy Tails
Thor was surrendered to us from a man in FL. You may recall he is the one who arrived in a crate in the back of a pickup truck covered in feces and urine. And of course he was heartworm positive.
We restored Thor's health and confidence and our silly guy, so full of personality, made his journey to his forever home today. The best part...
Thor's family is return H-E-A-R-T adopters!
Our sweet Sibe from Iran, Mishka - has been ADOPTED!
From roaming the streets in Iran all alone, to the US and a happy, furever home! We bid you Happy Tails sweet girl!
