Meet Jetta

    About Jetta

    Bio

    Meet Jetta!

Independent, people-focused, and ready for a fresh start.

Jetta came to H-E-A-R-T after being part of a severe local neglect case. She and five other dogs were surrendered to animal control, closing the door on a life none of them deserved. For Jetta, what comes next is a chance to experience something very different — a home where she is safe, included, and genuinely part of the family.

Jetta enjoys being with her people and would do best with a family that wants her involved in their everyday life.

What Jetta Is Like With Other Dogs

Jetta doesn’t seem particularly interested in other dogs. She's not aggressive or playful, she just tends to ignore them.

She would likely be perfectly happy as an only dog and having her people to herself. She may also do well with a calm, respectful canine companion who understands her boundaries, stays out of her face, and is comfortable letting Jetta be the boss.

She isn’t looking for a wrestling partner or a dog constantly asking her to play. For Jetta, peaceful coexistence seems to suit her just fine.

    Exercise & Home Life

Jetta will need a family committed to giving her regular exercise, activity, and time with her people. Daily walks are a must, and like any Husky, both physical exercise and opportunities to use her brain should be part of her routine.

When it comes to containment, Jetta has already demonstrated some classic Husky athleticism: she can easily scale a four-foot barrier.

Her future family will need either:

    • A secure six-foot Husky-proof fence, or
    • A commitment to safely walking and exercising her on leash

A standard four-foot fence will not be sufficient for this girl.

    Jetta’s Dream Home

    Jetta is looking for:

    • A family that will make her part of everyday life
    • Plenty of human companionship
    • A home where she won’t routinely be left alone for long periods
    • Patience and consistency while she settles in and learns her new routine
    • Regular walks, exercise, and enrichment
    • A secure six-foot Husky-proof fence or a commitment to leash walking
    • A home where she can be the only dog or share her space with a calm, respectful canine companion

Jetta is non-destructive (although can be curious if you leave things on the counter), crate trained, housebroken, and mostly quiet for a Husky. She's a good eater and doesn't seem to be picky. For a Husky she walks well on a leash.

Jetta has already lived through a chapter no dog should have to experience. What comes next should look very different: security, consistency, companionship, and a family willing to give her the time she needs to understand that this time, she’s home.

    Jetta is located in Maryland.

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply
