Meet Lupo
Lupo is an 8 month-old Husky mix who came to H-E-A-R-T from a local cruelty case, rescued alongside his mom, Jetta, and two of his siblings.
With the help of his foster family — especially his foster Husky siblings — Lupo is doing incredibly well. He’s learning that houses aren't so scary, people can be trusted, and being part of a family is actually pretty great.
Lupo is a high-energy, vocal young guy who loves other dogs, toys, tug-of-war and, perhaps more than anything else, WATER. Pools, swimming, splashing — if there’s water involved, Lupo would like to participate.
At home, Lupo is:
Mostly housebroken
High-energy and vocal
Good with other young, playful dogs
Good on leash, although he can still pull
Still learning bite inhibition and appropriate puppy play
Wary of strangers and sudden movements... But is making daily progress
Cuddly, super, dooper cuddly!
Lupo is still very much a puppy. He can be mouthy when playing and is an enthusiastic chewer, so continued redirection, crate training, and plenty of appropriate chew toys will help him mature. Because of his energy and play style, he’s best suited for families with children 10+.
Lupo must have another energetic, tolerant dog — he gains confidence from canine companions and has made huge progress with his foster siblings. He needs an active family committed to regular walks, exercise, and patient introductions to new people. A fenced yard isn’t required as long as his family provides consistent leash walks and leashed potty breaks. He absolutely requires a home with hoomans who will snuggle him daily!
And if Lupo could add one special request? A pool or a place to swim. Water is his absolute joy.
Lupo started life learning reasons to be cautious. Now he needs a family — and a canine best friend — who will keep showing him all the reasons he doesn't have to be.
Lupo is being fostered in Virginia and is adoptable from NJ - NC.
~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in.
