She has a great voice!
Meet Vicky, a Hurricane Helene Husky who was displaced and found herself in a shelter in GA when her owner's home was demolished in the storm. Her owner wasn't permitted to take her when she relocated to a family member's. Her story broke her heart.
So we rescued her and moved her into one of our foster homes. The first order of business was to treat her heartworms. Her treatment is complete and she's now searching for her forever home. (the shaved patch on her back is from the treatment - it will grow back!)
Vicky can be a little shy when you first meet her but she quickly warms up and is quite the cuddle bug. While she is crate trained, she prefers to sleep with her humans and only be crated when no one is home. Sharing your bed will be a must!
She's a young girl at just two years old. She's been very affectionate and sweet with everyone. She's dog friendly and does well with dogs of all sizes. She even passed her cat test! Although we can never guarantee how anyone's cat will get along with her, so you should have a solid plan to supervise and give the cat appropriate escape routes if needed.
Her favorite time is spent running around the backyard. She needs a place to stretch her legs whether it's through a fenced yard or dog park. She is still working on her leash manners and pulls like a typical Husky. We will make a harness recommendation to help with this! She's a bit on the skinny side. This will resolve some now that she's been treated for heartworms and with good nutrition. Vicky is house broken and crate trained. We would consider her high energy and she is a singer. She has also perfected the Husky side eye! We promise she's not as serious as her photos, she's actually quite a goofball who is always up for the next adventure. She also likes the water.
Vicky is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines. She is being fostered in Georgia but we can transport for the right home.
~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in.
