Yana came into the shelter as a stray, paired with a male dog who was quickly adopted. She stayed behind—confused, quiet, and unsure. But we saw her. And when H-E-A-R-T stepped in, everything began to change.
At just two years old, Yana is thriving at our sanctuary alongside other H-E-A-R-T dogs. She’s come out of her shell in the most heartwarming way. What was once cautious curiosity has bloomed into playful energy—she’s started seeking out her dog friends, initiating games, and wagging her tail with real joy.
Her coat is in beautiful shape, and it’s clear someone once loved her. She’s gentle, observant, and carries herself with a kind of quiet grace. Yana gets along well with other dogs, and while she’s independent, she’s now showing us how much she enjoys their company.
She’d love a home with a dog buddy to play with and a fenced yard to explore. She’s very sweet and ready to be loved again.
Yana’s heart is open and waiting for her furever family. She's spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines and heartworm negative. Yana is located in NC but can be transported within the Eastern US.
~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply
