Zhuka is a 7‑month‑old Husky mix who came to H‑E‑A‑R‑T from a severe neglect case, and we believe she may be one of Jetta’s puppies. Despite her rough start, she’s blossoming into an affectionate, curious, energetic girl who loves people, toys, and exploring the outdoors. When she’s not playing, she’s happiest watching the neighborhood from a good window.
She’s mostly housebroken, affectionate, people‑oriented, and loves toys, playtime, and being outside. She’s still learning her leash skills and puppy manners, and she can be a bit vocal — classic young Husky energy.
At home, Zhuka is:
Like most puppies, Zhuka’s curiosity and creativity come out when she’s left unattended, so crate training when no one is home is recommended as she matures.
Zhuka is still learning gentle play and may grab clothing or shoes when excited. She’ll thrive with an adopter who can continue redirection and basic manners. She does well with older children but may be too energetic for kids under 12. New people, loud noises, and small dogs can make her nervous, and she may try to bolt when startled, so secure handling and patient confidence‑building will help her continue to grow.
She has limited experience with other dogs and may do best with a dog her size or as an only dog. Like any young Husky, she needs plenty of exercise, short walks while she learns leash skills, and lots of outdoor time.
Zhuka needs a family ready to give her structure, training, exercise, and reassurance as she grows. She didn’t get the beginning she deserved — now she’s ready for someone to show her how good life can be. She would also like to request a home with a great window for neighborhood surveillance.
Zhuka is being fostered in MD.
~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply
