Who wants to hear some pawsome news?! 🐾💕🐾💕🐾💕🐾 When we rescued Glacier the beginning of December return Adopters, Brooks and Larry reached out immediately. They knew in their H-E-A-R-T's she was special. 🐾 After she had some decompression and temperament assessment, they brought H-E-A-R-T Alumni Gus to meet her. 🐾 And well, the rest is history and Glacier is home to stay! WE LOVE RETURN ADOPTERS! Happy Tails to our Glacier! 🐾
Omg! Omg! Omg! We just cannot believe THIS happened! 🐾💕🐾💕 This is the tail of Tipper... We rescued Tipper two years ago! Yes, you read that right... TWO years ago! Tipper was a very scared and sick dog. We worked hard to restore her health but she remained very fearful. This month, along came a family who has experience with similar canine behaviors. And so our girl finally got a miracle we truly never thought would come... A home of her own. The very happiest of tails to our Tipper! 💕🐾💕🐾
We are so happy to report that Kaylee is all settled into her forever home in NJ! 🐾💕 Return Adopter Suzette needed just the right fit to complete her pack and our Kaylee checked all the boxes! 🐾💕 From death row to Happy Tails, our sweet Kaylee! 🐾💕🐾💕 WE LOVE RETURN ADOPTERS!
What does it mean to be a H-E-A-R-T Adopter? 💗 It means you're part of a Siberian Husky network and family! It means when you need to ask someone experienced a one-off question you get an answer! And, it means when you're ready to add to your pack....we can find you just the right fit because we already know your resident pup(s)! WE LOVE RETURN ADOPTERS! And with that, we bid our Mylah a Happy Tails! 💗
Eve got her Christmas miracle! 🎄💕🎄 Eve has been in so many homes with so much uncertainty, and we're not quite sure why. As far as Huskies go, she's an easy one! Her last family quickly learned she could not live with small dogs. When they reached out to us for help and we heard her back story, we had to intervene. We knew her next home needed to be forever. Eve just needed a chance to hang her stocking for good! And now she has! We are so happy with the new family we found for her and the joy she's brought to them! Happiest of Tails and Holidays to our sweet Eve! 💕🎄💕
Who remembers our Tuaca? 🤔 His fate was uncertain after his owner surrendered him to a GA shelter for not being cat friendly. But now he's a NJ boy and his new home is cat free! We wish all good things for your new life buddy! Happy Tails to our Tuaca!
Do you see what I see??
A very happy Cisco to have found his furever home!
Cisco was surrendered to the shelter after escaping and killing some guinea pigs. You know, for being a husky! This is likely the best thing that could have happened to him given that he was heartworm positive.
We rescued him, restored his health and found him a forever home with another Huskaroo in time for the holidays!
Go live your best life our dear boy! Happy Tails to our Cisco!
Star Saturday
Our final act of love for Pelia, is to find all of her puppies furever homes.
And now we've done just that! Four are RETURN Adopters, so we know her pups are in the BEST of hands!
In Pelia's memory, Happy Tails to our Rigel, Polaris, Vega, Capella and Sirius!
Who remembers Triss? 🐾💗🐾💗 She's the black and white Husky who had been attacked by other dogs while chained outside. We took Triss into our program back in August. Triss struggles with other breeds of dogs, becoming defensive because of the incident. But her Foster's Husky pack, including H-E-A-R-T Alumni Max, showed her the way. And while she's still learning and growing, she quickly decided she was part of the pack. The good news is they decided she was one of them too! A foster fail at its finest!
We LOVE return Adopters 💗🐾💗🐾 When Tara and Eric started talking about expanding their pack, we were thrilled! Knowing we needed a good fit for Orion, we decided a foster to adopt would be a good way to test out another Husky in their home. Lyra was in a high kill shelter in Georgia and rescue was her only option for getting out alive. By opening their home, Tara, Eric and Orion literally saved her life. Orion is adjusting to having a fur sibling and they've decided Lyra is home to stay!
Stark may be one of the bestest boys we've had in Rescue. ❤️🐾❤️ The good folks at Charleston Humane Society reached out to us when Stark needed help. We treated his heartworms and found him a home as wonderful as he is.... Just in time for Turkey day! Stark, we hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving in your furever home and wish you many, many more. You deserve it! Happy Tails to our Stark!
Susie Q, once living life chained to a tree, will be spending this (and every) holiday season in a furever home! We think she's pretty grateful for her new life! Happy Tails to our Susie Q 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾
Santa 🎅 came early this year for one special pup and special family! When he learned how good a boy Neeko has been all year, he put him on the nice list. Happy Tails to our Neeko
Hank needed surgery to repair double elbow hygromas. While recovering, Hank's foster family fell in love with our pup! So Hank is home to stay and recover with his furever family.
What happens when you take a scared Husky out of the shelter and put them in a furever home dedicated to understanding them? They start to smile! Happy Tails to our Arias!
Gus has some news to share! Once dumped in a kill shelter because the new baby was allergic, Gus is a DC boy now and is so very loved! Happy Tails to our Gus!
So many Sibe supporters were concerned about Fred and Wilma being separated. Well, worry no more!!! Fred and Wilma will be living the good life in New Jersey, TOGETHER FUREVER! Happy Tails to our Fred and Wilma
What's better than adopting a Husky? ADOPTING TWO! When the Zimmer family trusted us to find them the right pair, we were thrilled! These two became best pals in foster care. Happy Tails to our Nova and Lager!
When we rescued Zoey, she'd not been outdoors in 9 long months. Zoey was scared of the world! Her foster family and their Husky pack did an amazing job at teaching Zoey how much fun life can be. ow she's onto the next and final Chapter! Happiest of Tails to our Zoey
Lorelei was a stray who was not reclaimed after she ended up in a kill shelter. The shelter asked for our help and lucky for Lorelei we had an Adopter waiting for her! Happy Tails!
Macon was a terrified puppy mill dog we rescued. He had trouble trusting and it took a lot of work, patience and kindness to rehabilitate him. There were days we weren't sure he was adoptable. All the while, his foster Mom was falling in love.
So she decided Macon was home to stay!
Stella officially has her groove back! She'd been cast aside after her pups were gone and was heartworm positive. Her foster family worked hard to restore her beauty, health and confidence. And today we are pleased to say Stella also has a furever home! Happy Tails to our Stella!
Our Penny....not only is she shiny, but lucky! Penny came to us after many humans failed her. Her Foster worked hard to teach her to trust again. All those efforts were successful and prepared Penny for her happily ever after!
Happiest of Tails to our Penny!
Our two week check in with Taiyo's new family melted our H-E-A-R-T's when we learned she was loved beyond measure. We think the feeling is mutual!
Happy Tails to our Taiyo!
Bear was surrendered to us after being attacked by other dogs in his home. He had several extensive surgeries and ended up losing a leg and several toes. As we adjusted to our new norm, Bear's foster family realized it wouldn't be a norm without him in it. He became such an important part of his foster family and so they became his forever family.
Happy Tails to our Bear!
We knew it in our H-E-A-R-T's. When two time Adopters, turned Volunteers, Irina and Rob agreed to foster our Rory.... We knew she wasn't going anywhere.
And sure enough.... Rory is home to stay!
We're so happy she gets to be part of the pack furever!
Happy Tails to our Rory!
Gordon had been with us for a long time now. He needed a family who could embrace his crazy Husky ways and not try to change him. He needed a fur sibling who would play at his pace and not back down. He needed to be.... UNDERSTOOD.
We are so happy to announce Gordon is finally home!
Happy Tails to our Gordon Ramsey!
Our big ole guy Juno, who was surrendered to us because he didn't fit in his "owner's" new apartment. Juno loves undivided attention. And so, we found him just that! His own hoomans!
Happy Tails to our Juno!
Max's face when he learned he had a furever home of his own!
Our freckled face boy is officially a foster fail!
Happy Tails to our Max!
Who's a good boy??? Ranger's a good boy!!!
CORRECTION... Ranger is a perfect boy!
And so he needed a perfect companion. Which is exactly what H-E-A-R-T found for him. No more wandering through the streets, no more shelter life, no more abandonment... Only Happy Tails
Balto had been shot in the neck and leg when we rescued him. Thanks to our supporters we were able to rehabilitate him. As for us, well his smile is thanks enough! Go live the good life pal!
Happy Tails to our Balto!
Maui was the senior surrendered to a shelter in NC. Her human's health was failing and he could no longer care for her. She was very confused by what was happening to her and missed her family terribly. With love and patience we were able to help mend her H-E-A-R-T.
Bidding our Maui the happiest of Tails!
The best part of the day was meeting my furever family! They told me they have been waiting for me to get healthy so I could come live with them. They said they already love me lots already. And well, that made me smile as big as they were!
I'm so grateful to be RESCUED.
~~Love, Carmel
We just aren't sure who is happier here.... Timber or his new hoomans? Let's just call it a tie!
From a stray on the streets of NC to where he was meant to be. Happy Tails to our Timber!
Bolt was surrendered when his owner's new girl friend was intimated by his vocalness. What we quickly learned about this guy is he's not only stunningly handsome, but magnificent in every way. Please join us in bidding Happy Tails!
Callie's face when we told her she had a furever home of her own....
..........pretty much says it all!
Happy Tails to our Callie!
Noel was in a kill shelter when we saved her. She had been picked up by Animal Control running stray. Meanwhile, her new family was in search of an all white female Sibe to rescue and now Noel's troubles are behind her.
Happiest of Tails to our sweet Noel
While Maverick exhibits classic young Husky traits, he has a deep rooted spirit and nurturing side. We wanted a home just as special as he is! While his new family may have picked him, the minute he walked through the door he chose them too!
Bidding the happiest of tails to our Maverick!
H-E-A-R-T recently brought Ebu back into our program after his Adopter was no longer able to meet his needs. Fortunately, core H-E-A-R-T volunteer, Chelsea made room for our fella. Little did we know, this is where Ebu's journey would end. Happy Furever Ebu!
We love return Adopters! Thanks Nicole, for expanding your pack and giving Maizy a wonderful new start.
Happy Tails to our Maizy!
Chase had been in multiple homes by the time he was just 10 months old because folks didn't understand our beloved breed.
Chase was welcomed into a Sibe savvy home with a Husky sister to call his own. Chase's journey has finally come to an end.
Soldier joined a breed savvy family in Maryland and loves his new little hoomans to pieces! He just couldn't take his eyes off them.
Here's to hoping Soldier has found his happily ever after! Happy Tails to our Soldier!
Our best girl, Alina...
... Has a happily ever after of her own!
From an uneducated family who surrendered her to a kill shelter to a breed savvy furever family to call her own.
This is truly a Happy Tails.
We rescued Hershey last year from a kill shelter in Georgia. He had a really nasty case of kennel cough and it took a while to clear up once out of the shelter. We found Hershey a pawsome forever home but before we could transport him, he fell ill again. This time with what seemed like pneumonia. We just couldn't get this poor guy well. As it turned out, his original heartworm test was a false negative and what was really wrong with Hershey was a nasty case of untreated Heartworm disease!!!
Hershey has now received heartworm treatment and is feeling much better. And through it all, his furever family has waited for him patiently. So today felt like a dream come true when he was finally able to join us here in MD!
Happy Tails to our Hershey
Meeka was in a kill shelter in SC. She was terrified and pancaked to the shelter floor when we rescued her. Her foster mom and other Huskies helped boost her confidence. Meeka has now transitioned to her furever family! At first she was a bit unsure, but each day she gets more and more comfortable. A true testament to the love and security provided by her foster family and now her furever family. Just look at the difference!
Happy Tails sweet girl!
Cherry has made it to her new home!
Once kept in a crate 24/7 in a dark room, to a beautiful and bright home of her own. This is what we do. Her smile makes it all worth while! We love you Cherry! Happy Tails!
This fella right here has been with us almost two years. He had a horrid past and it took him that long for us to teach him how to DOG and to smile. That smile he's taking with him as he embarks on his new journey with his furever family, finally! Happiest of tails to our Yuki!
While Koa will never be an overly confident dog, we knew he'd continue to flourish in the right home with another dog to show him the ropes. Meeting his new hoomans was a little scary, but meeting his fur brother brought a smile to his face! Live well buddy!
Winter needed a home who would understand all of her Husky ways with a breed savvy family who knows how to embrace the Husky life! Happy tails!
Zeus wasn't happy to have his harness but he was about having a family to snuggle! From TN kill shelter to VA furever family... Happy Tails!
From being shot at wandering the streets of GA to a remarkable new Dad in MD... This is what we do!
Happy Tails to our Casey!
Willow is Mom to the Reindeer pups. She is one of the sweetest souls to have ever graced us. So when we see the love her new family has for her, we know we chose a furever that was just pawfect.
We love you Willow. Happy Tails!
Our sweet baby Jett sat on death row just a month ago. We're so excited to have been able to give Jett a second chance and look forward to watching her grow.
Happy Tails to our Jett
H-E-A-R-T return adopters Lorrie, Carmen and family decided there's no better way to spend this time when most of us are home and isolated due to the Coronavirus, then to welcome a new pup.
Happy Tails to our Chase!
A few months ago Alaska was dumped at the shelter when her owners moved away and didn't take her. Honestly, based on the fly strikes on her ears and being heartworm positive, that may have been the best thing for our girl.
Alaska has since received heartworm treatment and shown us what an amazing, happy demeanor she has. She recently joined her DC family and is settling in so nicely. They love her and based on her smile, the feeling is mutual!
Go live the good life beauty! Happy Tails to our Alaska
We rescued Tait from a kill shelter in Georgia earlier this year. Tait is a bit of an older guy who was heartworm positive and had a skin condition. He was no stranger to animal control and had been there a few times.
We'd later learn he'd been reportedly drug from his owner's car which is likely why they didn't return for him this time. Well.... Tait is a survivor! This kind soul is so full of forgiveness and just loves everyone.
So when adopter Chris was looking for the right personality fit for his current Husky, Tait seemed like a pawfect fit. As you can see, Tait was so thrilled to meet his new Dad this past weekend & all smiles with his new Sibe sister.
Our sweet Jojo, one of the three Huskies we rescued from a kill shelter in Wilson, NC right before the new year, was adopted!
All of our dogs are special, but sometimes one comes along who steals every volunteer's H-E-A-R-T. All 5 of today's Transporters fell in love with Jojo.
Jojo made her journey to MD to her new pawrents, who already adore her. Happy Tails to our Jojo!
COVID-19 masks, while necessary, don't make for the greatest Happy Tails pictures. BUT.... it's really Kelani's smile that matters! And our girl's smile confirms she loves her new hoomans already!
Happy Tails to our Kelani!
Throughout the screening process, Jasper's foster kept his new family pupdated with pictures and video. Jasper's new family realized he was best buds with Schnitzel and decided to adopt both boys! HAPPY TAILS to Schnitzel & Jasper!
When Carmen and Lorrie saw Dakota, they just knew in their H-E-A-R-T's he'd be a pawfect addition to Riley and Honey, their H-E-A-R-T Alumni Sibes.
Happiest of Tails to our Dakota
So Archer (fka Ivar), on the right, came for a visit yesterday and left with a new bro, Cedar! This is the best part of what we do.... pairing Huskies with return adopters. Knowing their pup's personality lets us assess compatibility and smiles happens!
Happy Tails to our Cedar!
Raina, our honorary Husky, had an awful case of mange back but her sweet demeanor just spoke to our H-E-A-R-T's. With her health being restored, we found her hoomans. Go live the good life baby girl!
Happy Tails to our Raina!
Now this is the face of a dog who has found his person! When Laura sent us pictures of her Husky mix at home and said she was interested in adopting Mack, we had to do a double take!
Happy Tails to our Mack
Misha and Boris, mom and son, were surrendered to a high kill shelter in GA two years ago. We re scued them before they could be euthanized and treated their heartworm disease.
But it's been so hard to find them a furever home. You see, they're bonded. Really bonded. So they need to stay together. And, Boris is a mix which some Adopters won't consider.
But most difficult of all, we simply have not been able to capture their personalities in pictures or video. Media just does not do these two justice! So we hosted a special adoption event for just them at the end of last year. And fortunately, an amazing couple who follows us, decided to stop in and see them.
Well, just like us... They fell in love! These two are the easiest, most fun and most loving pups of all. And... When they found out they were finally adopted, their personalities finally shown in their pictures! (bottom pictures)
Please give a big Happy Tails to our Misha and Boris!
Tika is our girl whose owner passed away. She's very special and needed an adopter who could embrace her Husky ways. Greg and her new kids can do just that. Happy Tails and a Merry Christmas to our Tika
Juneau had three homes in his four months of age. Because, well.... He's a Husky puppy. H-E-A-R-T found Juneau a home who understands the breed and knows exactly what they are getting themselves into. Merry Christmas Juneau!
